Crash-- a film represent humanity

《Crash》 the film is talking about humanity after 9·11 in American. It was directed by Paul Haggis. It tells a story about different kind of people in two days in Los Angeles. It covers a wide range of class steps which including white, black, Latin, Middle Easten, and East Asian. At the same time, the jobs of them are from locksmith to the district police officer, from small fry to detectives from the shop owner to Hollywood director. It shows the director's thinking of a multicultural and multiracial society.

I like the storytelling of this film. It is complicated but connected with each characters. The film begins with a car crash, and ends with a car crash too. He use montage to show his strong feelings, to show the racial discrimination in Los Angeles. In the film, the most slot which amazing me is when the little girl was shoot by a gun, the most painful her parents showed, and the "murderer" who was a shopkeeper was shocked and stood there with helpless emotion.

After it, the girl was not died, and she believed the "coat" which her father gave her as a shield. So the story turned to a kind of "release" after this. The shopkeeper didn't know the bullet was faked, he believed the little girl saved him and regarded her as his "Angel". Actually it released the tension situation between the two mans' conflict.

So through the film I learn the storytelling and the way to connect different people by accident.

Gravity

Yesterday I watched this film.The story is about that Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone - tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness.


The whole movie was Sandra's show. Most of the slots was made by her, and the story line was easily understood. When I watched the movie by 3D, especially in the outer space, I felt very tired and wanted to sleep. After a while i woke up and focus on the acting. Her acting is very pro, every emotion could make audiences care about her safety.

In film, I think the director like use lights standing for a symbol of hope or wish. So in this film the director use some darkness slot and some slot made by sunlight. It is a useful way to express the hope. So I think I can learn the acting and the director's method. Finally,Thanks to some incredible CGI, great direction, and solid acting, the movie is an absolute must see.

There is another film called "crash", Sandra is one of the actor, and I also like that movie. I will analysis that movie in the next.

                

                  

               

Script practice two

Place: Sainsbury's local      Date: 10/11/13
I saw a man who wore a grey-black sweater, blue-black shorts, a black wool hat, white socks and a pair of sport shoes. So I guess the man was 20-25 years old and just finish his training session of running and began to go to the market to buy some drinks. However, he was not going to the market instead of walking around the gate. He tried to remember something which I confused. Finally he came up and took up his card to get some money from the ATM. And I can see his happy on his face after 5 minutes with a bag of drinks.

Script practice one

Place: Old Market      Date: 5/11/13
I saw a woman who held a walking stick on her left hand. And on her right hand was a cigarette and she wore a grey coat, her hair was red. She had a black bag with her. I think she was 35-40 years old from her outlook and from the smoking  and the black bag I guess she maybe feel lonely. She was on her way to her home because she looked worried like something happened to her family member.

First practice about script

On Monday's script class, we have a practice. I choose the first one: A couple have had an argument and only one of them wants to make up.

Here is mine:
In a room, the TV was open which was displaying news. The couple were sitting on a sofa. The man was towards to woman, whereas the woman was towards to other side. Man tried to put his hand on her shoulder but he failed because the woman interrupted him. The man tried to explain, however, at that moment the woman was throwing a cup and it broke. The man was angry and he began to hit the woman's face when the electricity was cut off at that time. They were scared and the woman began to cry. The man found the flashlight and came to light the room. Finally the woman was calm down and began to listen his explain.
